Rocío Rodríguez is the recipient of various prestigious awards among them, a Joan Mitchell Foundation Fellowship, Anonymous Was a Woman, Artadia Atlanta, an Affiliated Fellowship Award at the American Academy in Rome, Italy, a Cintas Fellowship, and two National Endowment of the Arts/Southern Arts Federation Fellowships. She has exhibited in over thirty-five solo exhibitions and has participated in over ninety curated national and regional shows. In addition, Ms. Rodríguez has had two major retrospectives; Divergent Fictions: Selected Works from 1988-2012 at the Columbus Museum in Columbus, GA, in 2012 and a retrospective of her drawings, Thirty Years on Paper at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia in 2019. In 2014 she was awarded an Artist Residency at the Marfa Contemporary in Marfa, Texas where she also had a solo exhibition. Her work is in numerous private national, international, and public collections among them the High Museum of Art, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Huntsville Museum of Art, the Macon Museum of Arts and Sciences, the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale, The Columbus Museum, and the Telfair Museum of Art. Her work has been featured in two books Out of the Rubble and NOPLACENESS: Art in a Post-Urban Landscape.
